How Kocteau uses cookies and local storage

Kocteau uses essential cookies and browser storage to keep the app working. This can include authentication sessions, security state, interface preferences, saved drafts, recent searches, and the sidebar state.

These controls help Kocteau feel stable between visits and avoid making users repeat the same setup choices.

Essential storage

Essential storage may be used for:

  • Supabase authentication sessions and security checks.
  • Sidebar and interface preferences.
  • Review drafts kept locally before publishing.
  • Recent search history saved in the browser.

Turning off essential cookies or clearing browser storage may sign you out, remove local drafts, reset preferences, or make parts of Kocteau stop working correctly.

Analytics and monitoring

Kocteau uses analytics and monitoring to understand product health, performance, and errors. Analytics should be used to improve the app, not to build advertising profiles.

Vercel Analytics is designed for privacy-conscious site measurement. Sentry may receive error and performance details when something breaks.

Kocteau may also record first-party product events for review and discovery health, such as feed loads, recommendation actions, starter pick actions, and review opens. These events should stay focused on product behavior and avoid sensitive metadata.

Advertising cookies

Kocteau does not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site ad tracking cookies.

If that changes, this page should be updated before the behavior is introduced.

Managing cookies

You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing them may remove saved preferences and require signing in again.

For privacy-related requests, use the public Kocteau support channels while dedicated request forms are being prepared.
