Accessibility
Kocteau's accessibility goals for reading, reviewing, and navigation.
Last reviewed May 23, 2026
Accessibility goal
Kocteau should be usable for people who read, review, search, navigate, and manage accounts with different devices and access needs.
The product goal is to move toward WCAG 2.2 AA as the interface matures.
What Kocteau prioritizes
Kocteau should keep the main review flow readable, keyboard reachable, and stable.
Current priorities include:
- Clear focus states for buttons, links, dialogs, menus, and forms.
- Keyboard support for navigation, search, review creation, dialogs, and dropdowns.
- Sufficient contrast on dark surfaces.
- Reduced layout shift during loading and transitions.
- Motion that supports orientation without becoming noisy.
- Labels and accessible names for icon-only controls.
Motion and visual comfort
Kocteau uses motion with restraint. Motion should clarify what changed, not decorate the interface.
Where possible, reduced-motion preferences should be respected and the app should remain understandable without animation.
Feedback
Accessibility issues should be treated as product issues, not polish requests.
If something blocks reading, reviewing, searching, signing in, or using a core action, use the public Kocteau support channels while dedicated request forms are being prepared. Include the page, browser, device, and what you expected to happen.
